What we at A is For Animals do is load up our collection of animals from around the world into our trusty transport, Gus-the-Bus and drive to schools in the greater Sacramento area. We set up a temporary pen at the school and invite the students out. The students participate in a 45 minute assembly taught by Sara, an experienced teacher. They learn where the animals come from as well as their many uses. The students then have time to meet the animals up close and their teachers are given activities packets which they can use in the classroom later to re-enforce what the children have learned.

Why we do this is to help connect kids to agriculture as well as supplement curriculum and provide teachers a fun connection to many future lessons. We believe our program provides experience, excitement, memories and motivation in the school setting. All of these things help students learn and feel good about themselves as well as their school experiences. We do it to help teachers teach and students learn and our goal is to provide it at NO cost to the schools.
